An Experimental Study of Ash in Glazes
Description
This master's thesis was dedicated to the investigation of ash glazes that were produced based on residue from biomass power plants. In a broad material study, new ways for the use of secondary materials in ceramics were explored. Traces of nature and man, which the plants absorbed during their growth cycle and further processing in their product cycle, were made visible in the glazes. Each glaze tells an individual story about the origin of the plant and how it is interwoven with the systems surrounding it.
