Description

A collection of ceramic and glass experiments, consisting of pairs, groups and series of objects.

What is the Topic?

The forming process of ceramics and glass is a transformation from fluid to solid: the movement solidifies and holds the structures formed in the process. The objects formed in this way make their process of creation visible and permanent.

Why does it look like this?

Coincidence and control play together in the experiments. Sometimes objects are more strongly defined in their outer form, sometimes the results digress into the amorphous, anarchic. In some cases the objects give a certain application possibility through their shell shape. Primarily, however, the forms serve to represent observations and disregard the function of use.

What is special?

Instead of bringing materials into a pre-defined form and hiding traces of production, the materials are given space to form independent forms and structures. What could normally be called a mistake is provoked here. The materials themselves become "designers".

What is new?

What is new and unusual are the processes in which the materials are formed by certain manual movements. This produces unique results that would be difficult to produce industrially.
