Description

Algae are the oldest plant organisms on our planet as well as the foundation of our lives. They are of great importance, both for us and for our environment, because they have such a high level of potential. About half of the oxygen in the atmosphere is produced by algae, which is up to three times more effective than other plants. So why don’t we integrate them more consciously and more often into our environment, our surroundings and our everyday life by creating new habitats for them? In the project “algae”, new methods of cultivating microalgae were explored. By 3D printing clay, a special surface was created that the algae can adhere to and grow on. This is not only advantageous in algae cultivation, but also opens up completely new possibilities of application and integration.
