Description

It is a lamp that serves its user to find easier access to increased relaxation and thus to himself. The lamp should be a daily reminder to take time for yourself and to seek balance in conscious relaxation.

What is the Topic?

We are often faced with situations in our everyday life, that cause stress in us. In addition to the time and performance pressure at work, there is often the fear of not meeting external and own expectations. This can lead to serious mental and physical illnesses and problems. A mental switch-off to relax physically and listen attentively to the inner needs hardly takes place, which is why more and more people long for a temporary retreat where they can find inner peace and relaxation to bring their body and mind back into balance. But most people find it difficult to consciously retreat in order to take a break from everyday life. Too often we are busy with various things in our free time or are looking for distraction, for example, in front of the television and switching through the channels. Our thoughts often prevent us from getting into a state of relaxation. We deal with our daily events or with what we still have to do and what problems are ahead of us. The conscious dealing with ourselves that is so important for us hardly takes place. However, switching off and relaxing physically are skills that can be practiced and intensified. This can be achieved by using a variety of methods. Various aspects of these methods are taken up and used in the luminaire to facilitate access to increased relaxation and to ourselves. It creates awareness and knowledge of one's own needs, which is necessary to have a healthier perspective on our lives and to be able to live our everyday life.

Why does it look like this?

The circle, as the original form in nature, stands for protection and infinity and forms the light source of the object. The body of the object is restrained in form and color and focuses on the light source and serves as a form. The dimension of the object is adapted to the average height of an adult when sitting and acts as a kind of "partner" for rest and self-discovery. The slight inclination of the lampshade opens up to the room and at the same time to the users’ sight and demands an upright posture. You sit across of the light, take a comfortable sitting position and start a conscious break.

What is new?

The operation of the object is reduced to the essentials. With a swiping movement on the top of the screen, the light is switched on and off and the breathing function of the light is activated in a standard setting. In order to adapt the special properties of light, breathing and sounds to individual needs, specific light settings, different sound and exercises can be activated using an app on the smartphone. The main menu of the app consists of four elements: light, breathing, sound and exercises. Light temperature and brightness can be adjusted outside of the automatic mode, depending on individual needs. The respiratory rate and the respiratory interval can also be set in the corresponding menu. Sound or music, for example to support mediation, can be selected from a playlist. These can then be played via the speaker integrated in the base of the lamp. In the exercise menu there is a selection of different exercises with a predefined sequence of light, breathing and sound settings. The user can select and carry out suitable meditation or mindfulness exercises.
