Description
The last 7 months i’ve been working on my diploma thesis called A First Aid Kit Against Loneliness - A Speculative Intervention. The work deals with the topic of loneliness and creates a scenario in which loneliness appears medically treatable by using fictitious health products. It contributes a critique of the media representation of loneliness as an illness and serves as a tool to destigmatize and raise awareness for loneliness and it’s societal impact.
The theoretical part explains questions about loneliness and describes approaches of how the emergence of social isolation can be antagonized through designed measures. It also includes interviews with experts who deal with the topic of loneliness from different perspectives.
