The sun as the centre of our solar system is the starting point of the ‘280+ THE SUNCARE PROJECT’. It combines the fascination of the sun with the knowledge of its harmful radiation. UV radiation is dangerous to humans, omnipresent but invisible. Thanks to a special surface treatment, the modular bag provides a visual indication of the current level of UV radiation. A photochromic textile print is activated by the invisible wavelengths and turns the bag violet. The bag acts as a sensor, even when the sky is cloudy. It is an accessory with a clear message, a call for a conscious approach to the sun and a first step towards making UV radiation understandable. The integrated QR code directs the wearer to the German weather service’s UV Index Check. Using the scale on the inside of the strap, you can easily check your daily UV levels and find out what protection measures to take.
