"Where are you from?" is the beginning of a woolen rug series which displays the identity question of multicultural people.
My whole life I had to deal with the question: where are you from?, never had the right answer. In my childhood I had a big problem with this question but as more as I grew up, i realized that its enriching to have a background from different cultures.
To criticize chemical color industry and the resulting environmental pollution I started investigation into natural dying. In the end I chose two natural colors to display my two cultural backgrounds. Indigo blue and alder bark brown. Locally sourced sheep wool is died in a technique that creates an unpredictable pattern - the intersection of two cultures.
