Description

There are very few digitised representations of cardiogenesis in existence. Students of human medicine learn about the process primarily through medical literature. However, since many processes that take place during the development of the human heart can only be understood to a limited extent through 2D illustrations, the use of virtual reality (VR) should be used to provide support. This thesis compared whether medical students received additional benefit through the use of VR in their studies versus only using 2D illustrations in textbooks. In order to implement this, a VR experience was designed and then tested over the course of the thesis project through a qualitative user study of medical students.
