Träum Weiter

Inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin’s speech* on the power of narrative, ‘Träum Weiter’ uses imagining as a practice to reshape established narratives about technology and societal power structures. Dominant visions of technology – such as dystopian and glorifying perspectives – are challenged to open up a space for inclusive and alternative futures. Motion tracking and a responsive sound installation illustrate the friction between man and machine and, together with relaxation areas, create a place to slow down. Visitors can use an iPad to enter their visions and dreams, which will be printed on site and shared in performative readings. ‘Träum Weiter’ aims to foster a collective consciousness and redefine the social function of technology. It invites people to create alternative futures together, rather than seeing technology as the only solution. *NBA 2014
