Algae cultivation is a rapidly growing trend. Many problems that put conventional agriculture to the test are not an issue for algae cultivation: long dry periods are not a reason to fail to harvest f aquatic plants. There is also more than enough space for algae on the water, unlike soybean fields on land. Algae cultivation also comes with challenges: it is very time-consuming and is done almost exclusively by heavy manual labour. That is where the STIHL Aqua Mower can help. It can automatically harvest algae, replacing expensive labour: Meaning nothing would stand in the way of the growth of algae cultivation and the problems of conventional agriculture could be addressed. The title of the bachelor thesis is meant to be thought-provoking. The dissonance between the title and the product seems inconsistent and makes the viewer take a closer look. It is a reference to the painting by Rene Magritte: "Ceci n'est pas une pipe." and attempts to provocatively foreshadow the future of the brand STIHL.
