Description

The digital frame „Thinks“ (made up of „think“ and „things“) is a tool, which provides a daily confrontation with the user‘s possessions in an asthetical way, causing them to become more aware of these and their consumption behaviour in general. The objects are presented through a picture frame-like monitor, giving the user the possibility to evaluate the objects meaning and worth in a neutral environment, when in other cases, rating one‘s own possessions can be stressful and emotionally exhausting. Details of the shown objects are enhanced, resulting in a different view on and curiosity towards one‘s things. Light sensors installed in the frame enable the users to classify their items through hand gestures by usage and likeability. The collected data is saved in an App, which provides a listing of the things fed into the system. This enables the users to view or edit these classifications in a comfortable environment and get rid of unwanted things.
