The project is aimed at people living in rented accommodation for up to twelve months. One reason for this could be a new arrival in a city. Because of the effort and expense involved, it is usually not worth moving all the furniture. In order to avoid sitting on old, unfamiliar furniture, people prefer to buy from a fast-moving furniture company. Although these companies are known for their comparatively cheap products, they also cut down (virgin) forests. As the industry has moved towards seasonal goods, consumers are provoked into buying accordingly. This in turn leads to an increase in waste. The city of Frankfurt alone collects 36 tonnes of bulky waste every day. The aim of the project is to design a furniture system within a private rental cosmos. Furniture is selected, ordered, delivered and assembled as needed. When people move out, it is collected and dismantled.
