Description

Avera is a social wearable that addresses loneliness in phases of social change. The focus is on mothers as representatives of a life situation characterized by reorientation and the reduction of social relationships. The aim of the concept is to lower the inhibition threshold for encounters with new people and to allow resonance to emerge based on shared interests. Three vibration actuators accompany these encounters through specially developed haptic impulses that positively influence the experience. Without comparison mechanisms, Avera creates space for natural and casual interactions. The development is based on research into loneliness, the resonance theory according to H. Rosa and findings from the field of Affective Haptics. In terms of design, the contrast of soft silicone and high-quality stainless steel combines wearing comfort with a subtle, high-quality aesthetic and integrates the wearable inconspicuously into everyday life.
