Description

Impact startups operate in a field of tension between social mission and entrepreneurial reality. This master’s thesis develops a strategic design solution to empower social entrepreneurs in the early stages through a hybrid impact management tool that enables them to independently plan, analyse through data collection, improve, and effectively communicate their social impact. In close co-creation with founders, specific needs were identified, interactive prototypes were developed, and tested in practical contexts.

The result is the ‘Impact Management Hub’: a digital tool that introduces impact-oriented work in a low-threshold way and promotes participatory collaboration with the target groups of impact startups. Methodologically, the project combines design thinking with a social science foundation and demonstrates how strategic design can provide concrete tools to support the development of social innovations in practice.
