Description

Second Hang is a module for semi-public spaces in urban apartment buildings that connects neighbourhoods and gives old items a second chance. With its versatile storage options, Second Hang offers space for items to be given away. The act of giving promotes interpersonal relationships and a sense of community. Thanks to its simple and flexible composition, Second Hang allows for many modular variations and facilitates neighbourhood dialogue and mutual support.
Second Hang consists of a grid structure made of square aluminium tubes, which can be arranged into different modules using standardised connectors. To store larger items, there are baskets that can be attached to adjustable hooks. Textiles are hung on the grid structure using clothes hangers. Plywood panels are used to create seating areas or additional storage space.
