Description
‘Beauty and Awareness: A Journey to Self-Acceptance’ is a speculative science fiction short film that critically explores digital beauty ideals, inner transformation and self-perception. In a futuristic society where self-optimisation has become the norm, the protagonist undergoes an emotional shift: a digital mentor – inspired by the Marte Meo method – supports her in questioning her self-image and freeing herself from externalised ideals. The aim of the project was to make psychological processes such as body perception, insecurity and reflection visually comprehensible. The film combines 3D animation, narrative staging and emotional design to create an atmospheric, immersive story. At the same time, it offers a critical perspective on deeply rooted Western beauty standards and opens up a dialogue on identity, digitalisation and mental health.
