Description
By layering and pressing several thin veneers, flowing forms can be created from the originally hard material wood, the elegance of which never ceases to amaze me. Curious about the extent to which the veneers can be bent without breaking, I started a series of experiments.
It turned out that cutting the veneers before the pressing process brought new design possibilities for the shape, surface and layering of a molded wood object. Although the objects had certain "flaws" in layering and wood structure, they were convincing as exciting molded wood models with character. For the production of the final product, I therefore deliberately chose a face veneer with a striking grain. The result was my "Plyo" shaped wood model, which is characterized by lightness and can be freely interpreted and used in various areas. I can imagine it as a stool, coat rack, magazine rack or as a purely decorative wall element.
