Resource-Saving Design: Natural Rainwater Purification System
Description
Aquatic plants, including Myriophyllum, play an important role in rainwater purification and environmental protection. They absorb, decompose or sediment pollutants such as chemicals, oils, pesticides and fertilisers in rainwater, effectively reducing the amount of pollutants entering watercourses. ‘Rein’ is made up of three parts, namely the upper filter section (made of acrylic), the supporting metal structure and the water storage tank. The main filter section also consists of an upper and a lower section. The upper part is the water plant filter layer and the lower part is the physical filter layer (activated carbon and ceramic). As rainwater collects, it eventually flows out of the small holes above the filter and into the water reservoir below.
