Description
Driven by an experimental approach, this study deals with overlays and interactions of coloured coating layers. By combining different techniques, predictable but also unexpected effects were created. These were catalogued and documented in a "decor library ".
Special attention was paid to which colour mixtures, effects, gradients, brilliance, depth and colour nuances are produced by the layering and mutual influence. The material aesthetics, which are closely linked to the unique manufacturing process, are thus brought into focus.
In this way, a growing repertoire of combination techniques can be acquired to make them usable in a controlled way. This could be an important resource in addressing future challenges in ceramic design.
