Description

Every day we eat, usually three times a day. Throughout the meal, our senses are stimulated, but the sense of hearing is frequently neglected. This project starts with these small details: the sound of tableware. It creates a narrative environment from the interplay of material and sound. Through the interactions with the sounding tableware, a unique dining experience is created that encourages us to rethink our relationship to objects and our etiquette at the table. "Phonatable" is a compound word that emphasises its narrative qualities. The adjective phonatable refers to a table with tableware that can be perceived as sound. Supervised by Prof. Barbara Schmidt and Prof. Dr. Jörg Petruschat.
