Personal Fit Socket is a novel socket system for upper arm prostheses that, for the first time, combines comfort, function, and independence in an adaptable design. An integrated BOA dial closure system enables users to flexibly and independently adjust the socket in real time to volume fluctuations of the stump – easily, independently, and without assistance.
Strategically placed support surfaces and targeted openings improve air circulation, reduce perspiration, and promote hygiene. Generatively designed structures and modular construction result in a functional, lightweight, and aesthetic product.
Additive manufacturing processes enable precise, individually customised production for each user. The project sets new standards in prosthetics – for greater quality of life, autonomy, and acceptance in everyday life.
