Description
Peer to Play is a circular toy system developed in response to the growing amount of electronic waste in the toy sector. Instead of manufacturing new electronic components for every toy, the system uses the same components over and over again for new applications. The focus is on the reuse of functional components rather than on their recycling.
The core of the concept is the separation of building and playing: While one user group constructs toys from modular components, another group uses the finished objects to play. The toys remain firmly assembled during use and, after their return, can be disassembled and rebuilt into new products.
By integrating a community of builders, a decentralized cycle is created that extends the lifespan of electronic components, conserves resources, and continuously enables new play experiences.
