Description
(NON)SENSE is a critique of contemporary information culture, which manifests itself in endless, contentless characters. Our interaction with media and information is characterized by an endless mass of content without relevance. (NON)SENSE translates this emptiness of content into script-like signs that hold no expressiveness. In this way, the boundaries of typography are pushed to their limits and a field of tension arises between meaningfulness and meaninglessness. A generative web tool forms these “characters”, which are then continuously recorded on a roll of paper by a pen plotter. The result is documented as a compendium in the form of a 400-page book in order to make the fixation of completely contentless signs tangible.
