Redesign and Further Development of The Dianabadschwelle in Munich

Description

The site of the Dianabadschwelle is located in the English Garden in Munich. The famous Eisbach forms a standing wave at this point which is very popular among river surfers, who share this section of the river with swimmers. There are increased conflicts and dangers between the two user groups due to the high number of visitors, especially in the summer. The goal of this paper is to present a new concept for the redesign of the Dianabadschwelle that accounts for safety, design and recreational enjoyment.
