Description

INPW is an interactive grief support service composed of a physical ring and a digital App. Participants include the individual before death and their chosen recipients — reducing fear around death while leaving behind a heartfelt farewell and companionship. Grounded in Continuing Bonds theory and the Kübler-Ross five-stage grief model, and informed by cross-cultural research in Taiwan and Germany (User Journey Map, Photo Elicitation), the project developed a culturally adaptable service.

The ring carries the memory and symbolic presence of the deceased, activating the App and transforming emotion into companionship. The digital system provides a non-linear chapter framework, enabling users to process grief at their own pace and maintain emotional bonds through content their loved ones prepared before death.
