Description

The highest demand for prostheses can be found in low-income countries whereas at the same time the supply with protheses is insufficient in those. The developed gripping module offers an easy-to-handle daily life support to arm-amputee patients. Focusing on Colombia’s countryside it provides a low-cost opportunity to them. The module is developed especially for navigating two-wheeled vehicles and the handling of agricultural equipment. In both cases, it can be assumed that the respective activity, such as driving or working, will be carried out over a longer period of time and that the focus will therefore be on the fixed and supportive factor instead of frequent gripping. It can be adapted to different prosthetic sockets with the help of a threaded rod, so that it can be added to an existing prosthetic fitting.
