I think the 'original idea' of the Mini from 1959 is more than relevant for the future. Sir Alec Issigonis designed it in time when there was a lack of fuel & raw materials in Europe due to the Suez Canal crisis in the late 50s.This led manufacturers to come up with vehicles that use less raw materials & fuel. As we can see, the situation in our world today is not much different with studies showing that the situation could worsen in the next 10 to 20 years, if we continue exploiting our beautiful planet in the same way. So, my goal is to reimagine the key principles of the original MINI to create a sustainable mobility solution for the world of tomorrow & focusing more on the developing regions like India, Africa & South-East Asia which are going through a rapid development phase requiring a lot of resources & mobility. There is a challenging path ahead for these countries, but at the same time it offers a huge opportunity to leapfrog into a world with sustainable mobility.
