ReForm is a product developed for the radical repair and redesign of seating furniture. It is a tape made of biodegradable material produced from used napkins that cannot be recycled. With this project, I want to bridge the gap between biomaterials and user trust by triggering a reappraisal of everyday waste and counteracting the premature disposal of furniture. The main advantages of the product lie in the possibility of an authentic repair according to the “here and now” principle, in which the tape is wrapped around seating furniture to create new surfaces. In addition to solving a functional task, this repair method offers the opportunity to involve the user in the process of redesigning the object through bold color choices, regardless of their design skills and experience in the field of design.
