Description

The project is developing an accessible, digital application for information and education prior to medical interventions in the fields of anesthesia and orthopedics. The focus is on scheduled, inpatient interventions. The app offers patients a comprehensible, multilingual, and inclusive preparation for the informed consent discussion and the procedure, as well as support during post-operative aftercare. Complex medical content is prepared visually, linguistically, and auditively. Features such as plain language, multilingualism, and personalized information modules promote understanding and safety throughout the entire treatment process. The primary user group of the application is patients, which is why usage is optimized for smartphones and supplemented by tablet and desktop access. The project is based on expert interviews and user testings with specialists from anesthesia, trauma surgery, orthopedics, and internal medicine.
