Description
Man Made Landscape explores the formal language and design logic of artificial miniature worlds and translates familiar infrastructural elements back to human scale. Street lamps, walls, electricity pylons and industrial chimneys usually shape our built environment in the background; here, they become usable objects that can be touched, moved and actively used.
The project investigates how shifts in scale change our perception of everyday structures. Based on observations of model landscapes and urban infrastructure, the objects were abstracted, scaled and redesigned for human use through industrial manufacturing and finishing processes such as vacuum forming, CNC milling, CNC bending and powder coating.
The resulting objects exist between model and reality: playful in proportion, yet designed and produced with the seriousness of functional industrial objects. They invite interaction and open up a new perspective on infrastructure that normally appears fixed, distant and immovable.
