LYRA is a wearable designed to support the perception of bruxism – the unconscious clenching and grinding of teeth. Many people affected only notice the tension when symptoms already occur. Existing solutions often focus on treating the consequences.
The project pursues a preventive approach and translates biofeedback into an inconspicuous, jewelry-inspired product for everyday life. A sensory in-ear component detects changes in the ear canal caused by jaw movements and provides subtle acoustic feedback.
LYRA does not understand design as a therapy, but rather as a quiet support for greater body awareness and a more conscious approach to stress.
