Lexi
Strengthening the Self-Esteem of Primary School Children with Dyslexia
Description
“Lexi”, provides an aid to mentally strengthen the self-esteem of children with dyslexia. Lexi is a kind of reading game that can be used in therapy and at home. It is tailored to the needs of children with dyslexia. Lexi is meant to be played by the child and adult together. It entices the children to occupy themselves with the wooden game without prompting by using the Montessori effect. This challenges and improves their sense and perception. Mental support is provided by the individual “Lexis”, who, like the children themselves, also have dyslexia and encourage the children through their stories. Stories can be chosen by rolling the dice. They can then be accessed by combining the analogue game with a tablet and scanning the dice. Lexi uses the possibility of digital media tailored to dyslexia to evoke successes and increase self-esteem.
