KILL YOUR DARLINGS

Description

KILL YOUR DARLINGS is a hybrid book and exhibition concept that questions how we deal with people who are considered role models but whose actions are not compatible with our personal or societal values. The project calls for a critical questioning of admiration and a reflection on one’s own attitude towards the cult of personality, parasocial relationships, and power structures. In essays, interviews, case analyses, and visual contributions, different perspectives on responsibility, the capacity for criticism, and societal maturation are opened up. The fold-out book pages can be used as exhibition elements, enabling a flexible, easy-to-implement exhibition in a wide variety of locations. Inspired by the visual language of classic fairy tales, KILL YOUR DARLINGS combines familiar motifs with contemporary design and creates an accessible entry point into complex societal issues.
