Description

Recent years have seen huge leaps in the development of artificial intelligence (AI). As a result, museums are also exploring how they can use this technology to make visits more exciting and personalised. In my bachelor thesis ‘Interactive Souvenir Design in Museums through the Use of AI Technologies’, I explored the design of an interaction that allows museum visitors to design personalised souvenirs. The aim is not only to create a physical souvenir, but also to create an experience that is fun and enjoyable. The aim is to make it easier for children in particular to engage with museum content. Visitors can collect their favourite exhibits during their visit to the museum. At the end, they receive a personalised collector’s card featuring a non-existent animal created by AI. In this way, visitors become explorers themselves.
