Open Access to Robots
A Design Practice
Description
In the thesis "Open Access to Robots", a design process was developed which enabled experiments on robotic production and digital fabrication with the parameter code (software), tool (hardware) and material. The aim was to use the experimental series to gain control over the complex interaction between the parameters. On one hand, the design process enabled me to gain a fundamental understanding of how to create digitally driven designs. On the other hand, in line with distributed manufacturing, this resulted in the possibility of reproducing an experiment or even final, generative production processes. "Open Access to Robots" is able to promote local, resource-saving production for individual items or small batches.
