Although the awareness for subjects like sustainability and environmental issues is increasing, according to scientific studies, too little is being done, both in industry and politics.
The author is convinced that designers have the capacity to influence sustainable and ecological design of the future in a positive way.
One goal of my project was to provide designers with an argumentative framework to convince customers of the necessity and advantages of sustainable economic activity.
Based on this, a course of action for politics and business was formulated, which shows a possible path towards ecological design. According to the working title, the focus is on factors of longevity and options for extending the products life cycle.
To illustrate this, all aspects were optimized by using the example of an electric toothbrush – with the aim of achieving longevity and a circular economy.
