Autonomous commercial vehicles are becoming increasingly important in the transport sector. They are setting new standards in efficiency, safety and environmental protection, especially in urban areas. This requires continuous progress to develop efficient and environmentally sustainable solutions. The design process plays a crucial role in improving the technological aspects and the interaction with the environment. It is important to consider societal requirements to ensure acceptance and safety. This thesis examines the design process of an autonomous sweeper system, including technical, design and societal challenges. It is divided into motivation, theoretical framework, analysis of the market environment and design process, followed by results and conclusions.
