Description

Sustainable cities must inevitably have more green, open spaces. This development, and other factors, make the city an attractive habitat for wildlife. “Eden” is a monitoring station that captures wildlife in an urban context. A camera array activates when animals pass by and captures accurate information about the species or individuals, as well as behaviour patterns. The AI only recognizes and captures pre-programmed animal silhouettes. The data is uploaded to the Urban Wildlife Registry server (a clear jurisdiction for wildlife in an urban context) and made available to the public for urban space design processes, research purposes, and other non-profit uses. The station also serves as a nesting habitat for wild bees. At the bottom is information inviting people to participate and learn how to behave towards wildlife in urban spaces using an app.
