Description

‘archive of care’ draws attention to care situations by transforming everyday objects into objects as a phenomenological game. These objects represent acts of care found in Horner Eck and serve as extended interfaces for objects that people associate with care. The archive consists of objects that visitors record on index cards. Viewers are confronted with found and seemingly everyday objects. Objects with index cards convey care situations through formal and material abstraction. The objects are created as a digital model and produced with a self-designed machine. ‘care in common’ examines aspects of care received by the co-operative pub Horner Eck eG. The work suggests that social relationships are part of the commons and that a caring community is a valuable resource for those involved.
