Description

The demand for chipboard for furniture, exhibition and interior construction is high. 53 million m3 of chipboard are produced annually in Europe. In view of the scarcity of resources, it is necessary to create a biodegradable alternative: A building material that follows the cradle-to-cradle philosophy and meets the highest ecological standards. Under the working title "The Good Life", a new panel material was developed from the miracle plant hemp, which is fully recyclable and biodegradable, CO2 negative and harmless to humans and nature. The material convinces not only with its ecological, but also with its technical and aesthetic advantages. The development of the material was followed by an application-related design discussion, in which a future-proof furniture family consisting of two chairs and a dining room table was designed.
