As part of the master’s project ‘Cocktails & Creativity: The Essence of Cocktail Culture,’ I combined the essential basic equipment of a bar into one multifunctional bar utensil. After an extensive historical and pop-cultural introduction to bar and cocktail culture, I defined which tools belong to the indispensable basic set — the tools necessary to prepare most classic cocktails.
The design was based on the fictional cocktail bar ‘Circolo Cremisi,’ which I created to provide a stylistic direction and specific atmosphere that is reflected in the final design.
The resulting multifunctional bar utensil — consisting of cocktail shaker, jigger, strainer, bar spoon, muddler, and mixing glass — allows for the preparation of all common cocktail classics.
