Description

Connecting.808 is a diploma project that reduces the complexity of traditional electronic music production and enables an intuitive, immersive user experience. At its core is a modular system that allows users to store, edit, and combine individual sound elements such as basslines, synths, and percussion separately and live.
An innovative gesture control allows modulation of the elements’ dynamics in real time through the spatial arrangement of the devices. In addition, touch-sensitive surfaces with an LED matrix enable control of effects such as reverb and delay, as well as precise sample selection.
Connecting.808 integrates hardware and software into a user-friendly interface that promotes creative freedom and minimises technical barriers. The goal is to democratise music production and establish a new, physically tangible form of sound design.
