Description

Germany is a high-consumption country and the consequences are severe. Nevertheless, alcohol is firmly anchored in our society – hardly questioned or regulated.

blau takes the state of being “blau” (blue/drunk) literally, uses the color as a disruptive factor, and thus makes the hidden traces of alcohol visible. A manipulated wine glass debunks the myth of harmless consumption: designed in the shape of an hourglass, it lets its contents leak out. A reference to the latest warnings from the WHO and DGE: there is no risk-free alcohol consumption.

An accompanying video shows the omnipresence of the drug. Personal comments from various people make it clear: behind the numbers of the statistics, there are real stories.

blau uses Critical Design to cause friction, spark an honest debate, and finally show a realistic picture of alcohol.
