“Beyond Borders: Understanding the dynamics of migration, identity, and empathy” is a socially driven design research project that explores how design can foster empathy and intercultural understanding among youth with transnational backgrounds. Using participatory methods and interviews, it uncovers personal stories of migration, identity, and belonging. The final outcome is a co-created card game that sparks meaningful conversations, reduces cultural distance, and promotes emotional connection. Rooted in social design principles, the project demonstrates how design can facilitate dialogue and inclusion across borders.
