Description

Beat and Beads is a performance-oriented collection. Inspired by and created for the ballroom scene. Movement is at the center of every design. Colorful beads and applications are purposefully used with textile design techniques, giving the looks an additional, almost living layer. They react to every movement, amplify gestures, create dynamics, and allow the body to have an effect in space. The collection plays with the wearer’s self-confidence and celebrates their expression, presence, and power – a visual statement that reflects the aesthetics, expressiveness, and identity of the ballroom scene in a creative and performative way.

The work appeals to the urgency of acceptance and support for the LGBTQ+ community and shows how free people can be when they are in an environment that accepts them as they are. It is intended to bring hope that we can be ourselves and be accepted everywhere. Hoping to no longer have to hide.
