Description

Diabetic foot syndrome (DFS) is a complication of diabetes that can lead to deep wounds and breakdown of the foot’s supporting structure. The ‘awa feetback’ system empowers DFS patients to manage their disease. The ‘awa base’ monitoring platform tracks the most common risk factors for the development of active wound phases (pressure load, foot care, injuries, circulation & foot structure) on a daily basis. The ‘awa assist’ app helps users to minimise identified wound risks. If the pressure on the footbed changes, new insoles adapted to the shape of the foot are produced to equalise the pressure and sent to the user (‘awa relief’). The frequency and extent of active wound phases can be reduced through precise monitoring, immediate action and interdisciplinary cooperation between the treating parties, supported by ‘awa assist’. As a result, the disease takes a back seat to life.
