Description

Why do women* often feel insecure in the city? Theoretical work and research resulted in a concept that serves as an intervention in the cityscape. With an interactive installation, developed based on the example of the city of Regensburg, the aim is to educate users and raise awareness of the topic. The installation includes a station in the city centre, where passers-by can answer questions on different topics, assess their own sense of security, and find suggestions for contributing to a safer space in the city. On one hand, the effect of playful learning is to sustainably raise awareness of the subject; on the other hand, striking design generates attention and empowerment for women*. The concept not only conveys pure information, but the actions can be understood as an exercise for real situations.
