Description
By applying the traditional Chinese harmonics of Feng Shui to product design, spatial quality is enhanced in an innovative way, creating additional product value. The design of the presented household air filter allows for personalisation and can be adapted to customers’ individual needs — achieving harmony and balance in personal environments, which leads to improved living and spatial quality. This adaptability is enabled by the product’s reduced yet modular design. The body serves as a canvas to highlight the selected materials (Five Elements Theory), allowing them to unfold within their surroundings. Adaptability is also present inside the product through the use of different filter materials. The aim of this work is to explore new approaches in the design of everyday products — focusing on the product’s effects on people and their environment.
