Description
My work is dedicated to the olfactory exploration of textiles. When damp, after drying quickly in the sun or having been in contact with smoke, the scent of a textile changes, often creating familiar smells that can evoke or create personal memories. Fabrics, which can smell very differently in terms of intensity and aroma, reveal a great deal of information about their composition, manufacturing and recent history of use through their scents. Each exhibit has been exposed to different conditions and will tell its story through and about its specific scent in only one breath. My design contribution to the textiles is invisible. Without a nose to smell the samples, my work is incomplete.
