Description

How can food waste be avoided? VAPOR is an analog storage option for food, specifically for vegetables such as fruiting vegetables, root vegetables and tuber/onion vegetables. Using the physical principle of evaporative cooling, it enables perishable food to be stored without the use of primary energy. VAPOR consists of a body, a cooling unit and a shelf that defines the upper part of the module. The inner part of the module is divided into three levels, which provide the optimal temperature and humidity according to the storage requirements. The cooling unit is located in the middle part of the module and is connected to the upper part of the module by a funnel. Watering the unit causes evaporation via a diffusion-open wall, which cools the different levels of the interior. Continuous watering causes awareness of food and the storage process.
